Registration will not affect performance at all and is essentially “invisible”. By default all student iPads will be filtered 24/7. This filtering is network independent and is reversible if you deem it unnecessary. You must specify if you do not want this filtering when you register the device by a parental "opt-out" form.
Below are the steps that you must take to register your students iPad.
1. Connect your IPad to YOUR home personal computer, backup and make sure the iOS is updated
2. Bring your iPad to Mr. Brenchley who will register the iPad (this process should take 10-15 minutes but be prepared to leave it for an hour or two).
3. Take your iPad home and sync your iPad with your home computer, NOTE: Do not restore backup but set up the iPad as a new iPad
4. All your data will be restored and it will be registered with HCA
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Registering iPads causes data loss as the iPad is wiped. Be sure to backup your iPad if you have any data that cannot be lost. All apps and store purchases are registered with your Apple ID and all your music will be backed up when you sync the iPad. HCAKCTECH.com has a video that walks you through the setup process.
As always, you can contact Mr. Brenchley at technology@hcakc.org for any questions. Thanks
